Imagine No More Lies Michael Aldrich 9781465361431 Books

Pair it with well-developed characters (loved the psychic pastor!),a plot that twists and turns and you've got a thriller that not only keeps your interest, but gives you a glimpse into the quirky, compelling world of philately. The story begins with a warm family scene in which a father and his boys share their love of stamps. Detail abounds as Sean Pate and his sons Ashton and Elliot lives together are abruptly interrupted by a home invasion. Protected by the government, both boys grow up in different enviromnments with the belief their family did not survive, yet their integrity and values remain the same. Ashton is the brilliant, successful, techno-nerd, Elliot the confident, self-assured stamp dealer. When Ashton develops a chip that deciphers truth, the underworld panics, and the plot thickens--is the world as we know it ready for no more lies, and whose decision is it? The pace increases as technology, murder, revenge and philately eventually bring the brothers together, and the story continues to build to startling conclusion. The author takes you from a stamp auction at Christie's to the boundary waters of Canada with great accuracy and wonderful depictions. Not a short novel, I found the book drawing me in more each time I returned--a fun and compelling read, I really enjoyed it!

Imagine No More Lies Michael Aldrich 9781465361431 Books Reviews

A captivating plot that evolves around the world of philately while inducing the reader to contemplate the possibility that one of man's most common character flaws could be virtually eliminated.
I cannot believe Michael has not written another book, the minute I read the first 2 chapters, I was hooked. He has a writing abilitiy that takes the reader right into the book and the characters and I wish he would consider writing another. I would rate this novel at least a 41/2

Book Review

This Book did three things for me; that most readers hope for, when selecting a book to read.

1) It had an interesting and unusual storyline(a page-turner - you didn't want to set it down).
2) The author was just descriptive and educational enough, to inform the reader; but not
overly descriptive(which happens all too often). His style gets the reader involved.
3) The story left `this' reader thinking "This could happen with today's technology."

The fact that this is Mr. Aldrich's first novel is evidence that he is a talented writer already.
Some authors take a couple books to really get into the swing of it. This novel makes me put his
name on my "Authors To Read" list. I'm glad he left an opening, in the final chapter, for a possible
sequel. I can certainly see a follow-up story.
I've, also, had an opportunity to read his published short stories; which were, equally, well written.
I am, eagerly, looking forward to his next publication.
OMG!!! Loved it. What a twist. My husband I read at same time ... created our own book club. We could NOT put it down ... seriously. What a great work - loved it. When is another one coming???
Michael's first attempt at fictional mystery provides the reader with many hours of enjoyment. The plot is well defined and flows easily. The characters are believable and grounded in reality. Philatelists especially will find this book well filled with philatelic anecdotes that are accurate in their description.

As a voracious reader of many books, I found this book to be one of the best mysteries I have read this year. I recommend it to mystery reader and philatelists everywhere.
Imagine this book on the big screen! The fast paced plot makes this an entertaining and fun read. My attention was immediately captured in the Prologue, and my need to know "what happens next" continued to grow with each new chapter. It's easy to like the main characters as they are credible, with fully developed personalities that are fleshed out by their individual quirks. Detailed and well researched, the author provides exposure to some unusual subjects stamp-collecting, piloting a float plane, Christie's auction house, to name a few. I especially enjoyed learning about strategies employed by auction agents. I highly recommend this book.
The characters in this book are developed fully, with all their faults and goodness. They become very real people. The author lets you admire and sometimes become somewhat disgusted with the characters that are to make moral decisions that could change how all justice is administered. The flaws really make them people we can identify with. We all have some of "these guys" in our circle of friends.
As in real life, the people that you think may handle loving relationships with ease, turns out to be not the case. The reader can feel the awkwardness of some pretty confident characters when they reach out to the opposite sex.
The bad guys and the good guys are very distinguishable in this novel but both sides can surprise you.
It is a "big" book but the plot moves along nicely and you really want to see how it all ends.
You go to Europe, Canada, L.A., Chicago, New York, Minnesota and more. The author has used his travels to take the reader places.Imagine No More Lies
